About Me

Hi! My name is Laura and in early 2020 I quit my job of 6 years to travel full time! It’s easy to say the timing wasn’t perfect, but I chose to hit the road anyway and it has taken me to some amazing places! I spent a full year planning, saving money and preparing to travel around the world. The pandemic made me refocus and travel a little closer to home. In 2020 I was able to take some long trips to the Smoky Mountains, Colorado, South Dakota and ended up getting the bug to road trip.

In 2021 I bought a cargo van, converted it into a camper and set out to see all 63 National Parks. My goal was to reach them in 1 year. I didn’t make it, but I did end the road trip with 50 National Park stops. I realized that the journey also took me to 48 states. I had 4 months to decide if I would stretch my budget to reach Alaska and Hawaii within my year of travel.

Luckily I did! In March of 2022 I landed in Alaska to see the start of the Iditarod and on April 20th I landed in Hawaii. Ultimately reaching all 50 states in 1 year! During my time on the road I developed a love for sharing my journey on my youtube channel. I hope by drawing attention to the possibilities of travel that more people will plan adventures of their own! And if that isn’t possible, they can just come along with me!

Right now I am training for RAGBRAI which is a bike ride across Iowa at the end of July. I am also eyeing trips to Alaska and California to see the 8 National Parks that I could see this year. (Might have to wait a while to reach the last park in American Samoa). After that my sights are set to international travel!
